Born in Zagreb, Croatia, Dejan Lazić grew up in Salzburg where he studied at the Mozarteum. As recitalist and soloist with orchestra Dejan Lazić has appeared at major venues in Europe, North and South America, Asia, and Australia, and has been invited to numerous international festivals. He was Artist-in-Residence with the Netherlands Chamber Orchestra in 2008/09, and enjoys a growing following in the Far East. He is also a noted chamber musician and composer. His compositions include String Quartet Opus 9, written for Rostropovich's 70
thbirthday gala, and a piano cycle Kinderszenen–Hommage à Schumann Opus 15 premiered at the Amsterdam Concertgebouw. His arrangement of Brahms’ violin concerto for piano and orchestra had its world premiere with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra in October 2009 and his recording of Rachmaninov's Piano Concerto No. 2 received the ECHO Klassik Award 2009 for Best Piano Concerto Recording 20
